(JULY 29) Former New York Golden Gloves amateur boxer, and pro boxer Grashino Yancy, 32 years old, was shot and killed on Sunday, July 26, 2020.

At the time of the shooting, Yancy was attending a packed neighborhood barbecue on Park Hill Avenue, and according to police sources, he had gotten into a verbal argument with a man who had a gun, where the man fired three shots, hitting Yancy in the upper right leg.

Yancy, a young talented athlete,  was known by friends to be a loving, caring and compassionate towards others.  Yancy was very loved in his community, and worked with kids to try to keep them out of trouble.

After being in the amateurs, he became a professional boxer, making his pro debut in August of 2014.   His last pro bout took place in 2017, and his pro record was 2-2-0.
