(MARCH 4) On February 29, 2020, at the St. Petersburg Marriott Clearwater, in Saint Petersburg, Florida, Laura "Lady Ram" Ramsey, 256¾,  fought Gwendolyn O'Neil,  240¼, winning by a fourth round TKO in a scheduled six round bout, and winning the ABO Heavyweight Title.

Ramsey has fought professionally since 2004, with an ending record of 11-7-1 (6KO).  She holds a world middleweight championship with the GBU. and by winning this last bout, she is going out #1 in the World in the Heavyweight Division.

In a pre-fight interview, Ramsey said, 'My training camp did not go as planned. I had a death of a family friend, so that affected me. About two years ago, I wanted to retire and Gwendolyn reached out to me. Over the last couple of years, we spoke a few times about doing this rematch and she was interested."

She went on to say that her first fight with O'Neill was on a card promoted by her people.  This time around Ramsey's fight is promoted by her desired promoters.

Ramsey said, "this is a fight that I HAVE TO WIN. I want to even the score with her. We are both 50 years old and the combined age has to be a record. I don't think any fight has a combined age of 100, so not only will this be a great fight, but it will be historical."

WBAN would like to give a congratulations to Ramsey for her win on Feb. 29th and wish her the best in her retirement of fighting professionally.
