(DEC 5) In February of 2012, the history-first U.S. Olympic Team Trials took place in Spokane, Washington.  I covered this great historic moment ringside for the duration of the event that would bring many of the top female amateurs closer to the 2012 Olympics, in London.  The following were the final 24 female boxers to be in this competition that included the following:

Asia Stevenson,
Tiara Brown, Patricia Manuel, LaTonya King, Marlen Esparza, Alex Love, Cynthia Moreno, Christina Cruz, Virginia Fuchs, Tyrieshia Douglas, Queen Underwood, Bertha Aracil, Lisa Porter, Mikaela Mayer, N'Yteeyah Sherman, Franchon Crews-Dezurn, Claressa Shields, Andrecia Wasson, Tiffanie Ward, Tiffanie Hearn, Tika Hemingway, and Raquel Miller

WBAN did a exclusive 2012 website that features all of the action that took place at the 2012 Olympics, and the website is:  www.wban2012.com

So I decided to see just who of these 24 amateur elite boxers turned pro and continues to box, or turned pro and then fell off the radar.

It is amazing out of the 24 amateurs that 13 of them eventually turned pro.  Check this out:   Claressa Shields, 11-0-0, Multi-world champion, and a WBAN P4P Belt holder; Franchon Crews-Dezurn, 7-1-0 (only loss is against Shields), multi-world champion; Tika Hemingway, 1-0-0; Raquel Miller, 11-0-0, World champion; Tiara Brown, 11-0-0, went into law enforcement for several years;  Marlen Esparza, 10-1-0, World champion;  Alex Love, 3-0-0, and joined the ranks of Law Enforcement; Christina Cruz, 2-0-0;  Virginia Fuchs, turning pro 2021; Tyrieshia Douglas Ward, 13-1-1, World champion; Bertha Aracil, 4-0-2; Lisa Porter, 1-1-2; and Mikaela Mayer, 16-0-0, world champion!

Of all of the above mentioned boxers, WBAN needs some of their bios, and or updates to their biographies.
