(JUNE 28) The 2nd European Games ends in Minsk, Belarus this weekend with 'all still to play for' in terms of Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals.  The boxing competition is taking place at the Dvorets Sporta Uruch'ye, Minsk.  Despite the 'massive' loss in the days before the tournament of Joe Ward (who has turned Pro) and the injured Brendan Irvine who were well fancied to strike Gold...Full Story

(JUNE 27) On Tuesday night, June 25th,  at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan, in a female bout on the card, Mizuki Chimoto won by a six-round TD over Chie Higano, the Japan Minimumweight champion.  The fight ended in a TD due to an accidental headbutt.  Scorecards in favor of Chimoto were 56-59, 57-57, and 56-59.  Full story with photos

Jelena Mrdjenovich Wins by Decision defending her WBC and WBA Titles

(JUNE 23) Last night at the Shaw Conference Centre, Alberta, Edmonton, Canada, featherweight Jelena Mrdjenovich, of Alberta, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Vissia Trovato, of Lombardia, Italy. Amy Lemenager to Make her Pro Debut October 11th in Duluth

(JUNE 21) On October 11, 2019, at Grandma's Sports Garden in Duluth, MN, Amy Lemenager will be making her pro debut, after having a successful amateur boxing career.   Before getting into boxing, Amy first began playing hockey when she was only nine years old.  In a 2016 interview on Fox 21, she said, "“As soon as I stepped on the ice I fell in love with it. I mean hockey, I love it,  I wouldn’t do anything else." Full Story

(JUNE 16) Last night, on June 15th,  at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada,  in a women's ten-round bout, former Olympian Mikaela Mayer, of Los Angeles, California, vs. Lizbeth Crespo, of Argentina.  The female bout was on the Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz card, it was televised on ESPN 2 & ESPN+. (JUNE 12)  The press conference was held today at the MGM Grand Hotel, In Las Vegas, Nevada, for the mainliner, Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz press conference. Mikaela Mayer is also scheduled to be on this card, and she will be fighting Lizbeth Crespo.  She was at the press conference but did not go onto the stage.  The two will be fighting a ten-round bout.  Full Story

(JUNE 10) On Saturday night at the Montreal Casino, in Montreal, Canada, there were two female bouts on the card.  In one bout, Jessica "The Cobra" Camara, 137¾, of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, won an six-round bout over Dalila Valazquez, of Durango, Mexico.  The two fought to a majority decision, with scoring of 57-57, 56-58, and 56-58.  Camara is now 6-1-0, and Valazquez is 5-2-0 (1KO).  Full Story

(JUNE 3) The 2019 EUBC Junior Championships ended in Galati, Romania on Saturday so here we take a look at where the titles and the Gold, Silver & Bronze medals went. Thanks to EUBC for this report on the female finals.  We also include a link at the end of this article to the male finals’ report.  The EUBC tell us that ‘The host of the EUBC European Confederation Junior Boxing Championships was the city of Galati, Romania where boxers who were born in 2003 and in 2004 were eligible to attend in the event.  Full Story
