 (MAR 30) Tomorrow night at the Coliseo Miguel "Happy" Lora, in  Monteria, Argentina, Sabrina Perez, 15-0-1 (2KO), of Buenos Aires, Argentina, is set to fight Lilian Silva, 4-4-1 (0KO), in a ten-round bout.  The two will be fighting for the vacant Argentina (FAB) Featherweight title.  The bout is rated two stars by Boxrec.

(MAR 29)  After a massive win a couple weeks ago for New Zealand Champion Geovana Peres, some big talks are happening for the future of New Zealand Heavyweight women boxers.  Geovana Peres who holds the NZNBF and PBCNZ light heavyweight titles, now is ranked 9th on Boxrec after her PBCNZ title defence against Lani Daniels. Boxing: Northern Ireland sends strong team to Commonwealth Games on April 4th/15th

(MAR 27)  The Northern Ireland team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games is now ‘in situ’ on Australia’s ‘Gold Coast’ with a 12-strong male and female squad named for the 21st edition of the tournament.  Rio Olympians Brendan Irvine and Steven Donnelly are included in the side, along with European Elite bronze medallist Kurt Walker and Sean McComb, who beat Russia’s World Elite champion, Vitaly Dunaystev, twice last year.  Full Story

(MAR 26) Last Saturday night on March 24, 2018, at the Sport Hall Energia in Narva, Estonia, rising and undefeated Russian female star Elena Gradinar picked up her first professional title, the IBF Inter-Continental Female Featherweight Championship, with a ten-round unanimous decision over Canadian former WBC world champion Olivia Gerula.  Final judges scores were 99-91, 98-92, and 99-91.  Full Story

(MAR 22)  MANCHESTER, N.H. - Last night's third and final stop on USA Boxing's 2018 USA vs. Ireland Northeast Boxing Tour ended in a 4-4 draw at Downtown Manchester Hotel in Manchester, New Hampshire. Team USA won the team tour title, 2-0-1.  Team USA had won the first two duals of the tour in Boston and Springfield, respectively, by scores of 8-4 and 7-3.  Full Story

AIBA launches new Diversity in Boxing program

(MAR 21) Lausanne, Switzerland: The International Boxing Association (AIBA) has launched a new Diversity in Boxing program for all of its 203 National Federations. The new program will be the first in a range of initiatives to be presented in the coming months following the AIBA Extraordinary Congress earlier this year.  Full Story

Two Female Bouts in Chile!

(MAR 20) On Friday night at the Arena Monticello, San Francisco de Mostazal, Chile, in one female bout bantamweight Carolina Rodriguez, 15-0-0 (1KO), of Santiago de Chile,  will be fighting Carolina Alvarez, 13-8-4 (9KO), of Venezuela,  in an eight round bout.  In a second female bout, featherweight Yesica Patricia Marcos, 27-1-2 (9KO), will be fighting a six-round bout against Cristina del Valle Pacheco, 10-10-2 (1KO). Both are from Argentina.

(MAR 18)  LOS ANGELES -  Seniesa "Super Bad" Estrada (12-0, 2 KOs) successfully made her debut under the Golden Boy Promotions banner with an impressive eight-round unanimous decision victory against Mexico City, Mexico's Sonia Osorio (8-6-1, 1 KO) in the exciting main event of the March 16 edition of LA FIGHT CLUB at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles, Calif. and televised nationally on EstrellaTV's Boxeo Estelar. Geovana Peres Successfully defends her title

(MAR 17) Last night in New Zealand,  Geovana Peres has successfully defended her New Zealand Light Heavyweight (PBCNZ version) title by split decision against Lani Daniels.  Geovana Peres is well known for being the first ever person from the LGBT community to win a New Zealand Boxing Title at a professional level. In the 2017 year, Geovana won two New Zealand titles. The New Zealand National Boxing Federation title and the New Zealand Professional Boxing Commission Title. Denmark:  Dina Thorslund Wins by decision over Alicia Ashley

 (MAR 11)  Last night at the Struer Arena, Struer, Denmark, Dina Thorslund, 121¾, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Alicia "Slick" Ashley, 120, now 24-12-1 (4KO).  The two were fighting for the interim WBC Super Bantamweight World title.  Final judges scores were 96-94, 96-94, and 97-93. Thorslund remains undefeated with 11-0-0 (6KO).

(MAR 3) Female boxers from Cuba have been making recent headlines as they continue to strive for the right to compete in the Olympics as their male counterparts.  The Cuban male boxers have won more Olympic boxing medals than fighters from any other country, and now female boxers from Cuba want to have the opportunity to fight in the Olympics and to represent their country in the sport, and they would like the government to support them in having a history-first Cuban female boxing team.  Full Story

(MAR 2) Earlier today the weigh-in was held in anticipation of tomorrow night's boxing action featuring Layla "Amazing" McCarter vs. Victoria "La Reina de Guerra" Cisneros. The two are set to fight ten rounds for the vacant GBU Welterweight World title, and the vacant WIBF Welterweight World title.  At the scales both weighed in at 144 lbs.
