Davrene (DJ) "So Fly" Morrison, born on August 29, 1978, in Billings, Montana, grew up on the Northern Cheyenne reservation with her father. She enjoyed participating in track and field, volleyball and basketball in Jr. high and high school.

Morrison moved back to Billings as a young adult and showed an interest in boxing. She started her boxing career in 2002, for Bob Lecoures’ Club Boxing (semi-amateur boxing) which is held in the north western states, Montana, Wyoming and Idaho. After five seasons, DJ achieved a record of 22-6 and was the city champ for Billings for the 2005 and 2006 seasons. Placing second in the regional tournaments for club boxing in 2006.

On February 28, 2006, at the Majestic Valley Arena, in Kalispell, Montana. On a two week notice Morrison, was given the opportunity to maker per pro debut against Shelly Burton, 8-1 at 152 lbs. Burton was originally scheduled to fight Dakota Stone, but Stone had pulled out of the fight due to an injury. Morrison had agreed to the fight. The referee stopped the fight 1:27 in the first round with Burton winning that fight.

In November of 2006, having no previous training experience, DJ started training with Rudy Meza of Dawg Pound boxing.

On April 6, 2007 Morrison was given another fight opportunity to fight Brooke Dierdorff 2-0, at the Par-A-Dice Casino in East Peoria, Illinois. Both fighters weighed in at 132 lbs. The referee stopped the fight 1:12 into the first round. Morrison had lost the fight falling to 0-2.
