Marylin Hernandez's Boxing record
January 12, 2005
(inset photo: Halmich)

(JAN 12) Marylin Hernandez is set to fight Germany's Regina Halmich, 45-1-1 (15KO),  on January 15, 2005, in Mahdeburg, Germany, where Halmich will be defending her WIBF belt.

Hernandez, who has an official boxing record listed on FIGHTFAX as 3-3-0 (1KO).  WBAN's record reflected the same record of 3-3-0.  BUT, on the net, Hernandez's record has been reported anywhere from  6-3-0 to 9-3-0 (4KO) with other online boxing record sites.

Those extra fights that were never reported to WBAN  come from mainly Hernandez defeating 0-0-0 unknown boxers. (Out of these 12 matches that have been listed for Hernandez on other sites, seven opponents had a  0-0-0 record, with Hernandez losing to one of those boxers. She fought a 1-0-0 and a 0-1-0, losing to both of those boxers.  The accumulate record of her opponents with these 12 reported fight 3-5-0 - going into the fights.) On the other sites, it is the "only" fight listed in a city and country with no other details of the other boxers on the card.

WBAN does welcome any boxing site, or record keeping site on the net, and/or Hernandez's Management to provide documentation of these "extra wins" not listed with us, and we will be happy to add them to our record for Hernandez.

The Boxing community needs to "beware" that any record keeping system that is not closely monitored, and that allows anyone who is issued a user name and password to add, delete, and/or modify records at their own whim, may not be getting an accurate piece of information when they look up those records.
