(APR 11) WBAN received news from
Colombia's Luis Bello, of the UBC, that on April 21, 2006, at
the Orfeo, in Cordoba, Argentina, Monica “Terrible” Acosta,
of Colombia, will be fighting Carolina “Chapita” Gutierrez
for the UBC Bantamweight championship.
According to Bello, the UBC have been
trying to contact Anita Christensen of Denmark (Team Palle)
on several occasions to defend her UBC title, (they recognize
Christensen as their title holder) and that they did not understand
the lack of response from Team Christensen.
(WBAN was not aware that Christensen held the UBC belt and we
only had her listed holding the WIBA/WIBF Bantamweight belts.)
WBAN invites Team Christensen to give their side to what has been
said by the UBC.
Bello said in "summary" in an email that they (UBC) know that Anita
had comeback (after an injury) when she won a six round decision
over Oksana Romanova from Ukraine, on June 17, 2005 in
Denmark, and that the UBC Championship Committee had many
opportunities to get Anita to defend her title, but that they did
not receive an answer.
Bello added, “Champions in
recess have a term of nine months for return and defend their
titles.” |

WBAN has Gutierrez rated #7, but
we have not heard of Monica “La Terrible” Acosta.
Acosta is listed 0-4-0 on boxrec.com. WBAN does not have any records
or information on Acosta at this time.
Another pointless world title
bout?---looks like some
"boxing folks" in this sport are just not going to be happy, until
they dig the sport---six feet under.
